Autumn Karr and Sienna Lane on their journey to publish VENDETTA.

ARCs are out. Autumn is having a nervous breakdown.

We’ve just finished editing Vendetta yesterday! One final proofread and it will be ready for publication.

The book was edited by the lovely Lauren K. McKellar and we couldn’t be happier (or recommend her enough). She’s worked with so many good authors and the second a friend of ours pointed her out, we knew we wanted her on V-team.

And so, last night we sent out ARCs to everyone who signed up. In seven days, Vendetta goes live…

To say I’m terrified is an understatement. I’m alternating between catatonic and sick to my stomach today, lmao. But I got a few messages and e-mails that people are enjoying it, so hopefully all goes well.

It’s so weird with writing. I’m extremely proud of what Sienna and I wrote. We really gave it our all, and for four months we both lived and breathed this story. BUT that doesn’t have to mean everyone will feel it’s good. It’s why it’s so terrifying putting yourself out there, I guess — once it’s out there, it’s out there — there’s no more fixing it up. I’m perfectly aware constructive criticism helps authors improve but I may take some time to read those reviews, at least until I can distance myself enough to say “Oh, good point!”

Anyway, I don’t know what the point of this blog post is. I guess to say, I hope everyone who reads Vendetta enjoys it! Oh, and if we promised an ARC to someone and you didn’t get it, feel free to e-mail either one of us or contact us through our Facebook page (contact info), and we’ll get to it. I might have kept fifteen separate lists and got lost figuring out who needs what (school for next time — one list is enough).

V teaser #3!

ImageTotes unedited and subject to change!

She brings her hand up to my face, her hesitant touch whispering over my cheek. I close my eyes and lean into her hand, as hypocritical as it is to need that contact.
“I wish you were someone else,” she whispers and I hear the tears in her voice. My eyes open and I kiss her wrist hovering over my mouth, wiping away the single tear streaking her cheek with my hand.
“Me, too,” I say, and I’ve never meant anything more than I do those two words.

Cover reveal and a giveaway!

So today is our cover reveal day. It has finally arrived.

And it was awesome. I think we should do a cover reveal every week!

But that’s not really a thing so this one will have to do.

Thank you to all the amazing!blogs that participated. You’ve made this day so good for the two of us! I’d list you all but I’m scared I’ll miss someone and we can’t have that.

Thank you to our cover designer, Ari @ Cover It! Designs for getting into our brains and pulling the cover out of them.

And here it is, without further ado.

And now, to celebrate, here’s a giveaway. Two swag packs and two $10 Amazon giftcards.

Ah, and our Goodreads giveaway also went live today.

You can find it here.

Hope everyone likes the cover! Again, thank you to everyone who participated in the reveal :D. Here’s some more cover goodness:

ARC sign-ups and MOAR

Hey everyone :)

We’ve finally put up our ARC sign up form – you can find it over here. The cover reveal form (for those who’ve missed it) is here. Excited for our cover reveal – we’ve been so indecisive with the whole thing…

The book is coming along just fine :) Love it so far. (Is that conceited? Oh, well.)

As for release date, we don’t have the exact date yet but I can confirm it will happen mid-December for sure. We’ve got our editing booked for beginning of November, so maybe (a big MAYBE) we might have it done even sooner.

And finally, here’s a little something. It’s not much, but you know, it’s still something.

VENDETTA – Teaser #1

So, our first teaser (to celebrate 500 likes on our Facebook page – remind us to never do THAT again). It’s a bit longer so it’s more of an excerpt?

Either way, this is unedited, subject to change.

I don’t know why I knock on her door before I unlock it. She’s nowhere in sight but I hear the shower running. I put the tray down on the bedside table, and take a seat in the same chair in the corner.

I scan the room. Nothing looks out of place, but I’m sure she turned it upside down trying to find a way out or something to defend herself. Or attack with. I spot the tray with uneaten dinner. Smart girl, no doubt about it.

A couple of minutes later she walks out wearing a silky bathrobe, her wet hair hanging all the way to her waist. It’s a tangled mess of ebony as she runs her fingers through it and then twists it up and over her shoulder. Her back is turned to me and for a second I just take in the elegant way she moves, her feet making no sound as she makes her way across the room, my eyes trailing up her toned calves and higher to the hem of the robe.

She stills for a moment when she sees the tray of food, but then she doesn’t acknowledge me at all. She unties the sash, letting the material fall down her shoulders. My eyes linger on the curve of her neck, and then follow the robe as it slips further down. She trails her fingers down her side, her every move so deliberate. I can almost feel her soft flesh under my fingertips as my eyes follow the path of her hands.

I hate what it does to me. I should never think of her body as something so perfect. I know there’s a reason I should just stand up and walk out of the room but I can’t remember any of it right now.

I’m so lost in all of it, I don’t even notice she stopped moving. She turns around and pins me with her icy blues, unashamed that all of her is on display. I recognize the look she’s giving me, daring me. Come here, she says with those eyes. Touch me.

And I hate it that I can’t let myself have her, because I know it’s all a game to her. So calculated.

I clear my throat and avert my gaze, hating myself for this moment of sudden weakness. I inspect the wall on my right, while she walks over to the bed and puts some clothes on.

Game over.

“Devon.” My name on her lips, it grates on my nerves. She sounds a lot more composed than she did last night, even though she was putting up a front. I wouldn’t expect anything less from her.

“Leighton,” I say, testing out her name. I try to put some venom in it but it just doesn’t sound like a curse. I stand up, and her eyes snap to my crotch, my erection still clearly visible, drawing a satisfied little smirk on her lips. I walk over to the door and open it to leave.

“It’s safe,” I say, pointing to the food on the bedside table before I walk out and lock her in again.

Blog Post!

Eep, first blog post. Pretty awesome, though I’m not much of a blogger. I’m sure Sienna will give you a more entertaining post, if we ever figure out this WordPress thing.

First of all, OVERWHELMED with all the support in the last couple of days.

VENDETTA is a story that happened on a whim with my awesome friend Sienna Lane, and we never expected so much attention but!!! Here it is and we couldn’t be more grateful.

The blurb… we slaved over that blurb for days. We tried everything – the typical “Devon Andre blah blah… will he? will they? blah blah”

It just didn’t work with this book, because gah. I wish I could tell you all why. Whatever we came up with wasn’t good enough to tell you what this story is about.

So we figured, let’s just show it.

And so we did, and I’m so glad readers liked it enough to add the book to their tbr because we both felt it was just a little risky.

So thank you all.

Cover reveal coming in less than a month (I kind of love it!) and today… we decided on a release date. That was scary. Because that means we had to book an editor. Another scary thing.

So, we’ll be announcing this release date soon-ish – just as we figure out if everything clicks.

Anyways, kudos to anyone who read this haha.
